CITAZIONE
Today Is The Day prepares Pain Is A Warning

Today Is The Day begins tracking its ninth studio album, Pain Is A Warning, in March with producer Kurt Ballou (Converge, Torche) at Godcity studios in Salem, MA.

Pain Is A Warning is the follow-up to 2007's Axis Of Eden. The album will see a summer release on Black Market Activities. Some working song titles include "Pain Is A Warning," "Death Curse," and "Slave To Serenity."

The Pain Is A Warning lineup includes founding member Steve Austin on vocals and guitar, drummer Curran Reynolds and bassist Ryan Jones.

Steve Austin reports: "Pain Is A Warning is some of the most rocking, most epic music ever layed down by Today Is The Day. I am putting all of the hardships and triumphs of the past 3 years into this album. After many changes in personnel, Today Is The Day finally feels like a real band. We're ready to go at it now harder than ever. We're so proud to be recording with Kurt Ballou, a true friend who I've known and toured with since the 90's, and to have the support of Guy Kozowyk and Black Market Activities."

Immediately after the Pain Is A Warning recording session, Today Is The Day embarks on a 5-week European tour of 20 countries, including appearances at Roadburn Festival, Inferno Festival, and SWR Barroselas Metalfest. Co-headlining for the majority of the tour is Soilent Green. US touring will follow.

Qualche aggiornamento sulla realizzazione del disco nuovo. Parla il batterista:

CITAZIONE
Pain Is A Warning: Studio Update!

Hello, all! Curran here. This weekend, I finished tracking drums for the new TODAY IS THE DAY album, Pain Is A Warning, at GodCity Studio in Salem, MA. I am so jazzed about this album! I turned in the best drum performance of my life. I aimed to pay tribute to all the great drummers who have played in Today Is The Day in the past and also to make it my own thing that represents me and simply makes these new songs rock and rip and tear as hard as possible. I owe big thanks to producer Kurt Ballou who has a good ear for drums and gave a lot of valuable input.

Steve is now done tracking guitars and Steve, Ryan, and Kurt are currently finishing bass and vocals.

I cannot wait for you all to hear this album! I've been a Today Is The Day fan since 1995 and I say, as a fan, that Pain Is A Warning is exactly what I would have hoped this band would make at this point in its career. This is a timeless rock album, driven by the passion of Steve Austin (in my opinion, the most captivating frontman in the business,) executed with the help of Ryan Jones and myself, and brought to life via the outstanding production of Kurt Ballou. Some of the many musical reference points include Motorhead, Joy Division, Melvins, The Jesus Lizard, Ministry... yet it is still entirely, unmistakably, Today Is The Day.

La parte dei Motorhead mi spaventa, perchè diciamolo che sono il gruppo più inutile di sempre (anche se è più da MERDA GRATUITA)
