Listen to PJ Harvey’s New Song “A Dog Called Money”
One of two tracks from a new 7” vinyl
PJ Harvey has a new double A-side 7” vinyl. It features two new songs, “A Dog Called Money” and “I’ll Be Waiting.” Harvey worked with Flood and longtime collaborator John Parish on the songs. One thousand copies of the vinyl are available on her current tour. Today, Lauren Laverne premiered one of the new tracks on her BBC Radio 6 show. Listen to “A Dog Called Money” here, beginning at the 1:51:13 mark (via Spin/The Line of Best Fit). Both songs are out digitally tomorrow via Island Records.
Ci sono momenti molto alti, agli stessi livelli di 25 anni fa, alcuni pezzi invece non li ho capiti del tutto per ora. C'è da dire che li amo a prescindere, e per me è un disco bellissimo.

Baast returns with a follow-up to their cosmic jazz funk opus “Dimensions”, with another set of esoteric “Kosmiche Musik” on their new offering “Bazaar.” Channeling the same energy filtered through a more “worldly” vibe, the heavy focus is on polyrhythmic percussion producing a decidedly Middle Eastern flavor in a similar vein to Krautrock standouts Embryo and Passport.
The Far Field refines and builds on the breakthroughs of the Baltimore-based trio’s 2014 album Singles, bursting with undeniable hooks and disarmingly honest lyrics written by Samuel T. Herring (vocals, lyrics), William Cashion (bass, guitars) and Gerrit Whelmers (keyboards, programming). After the success of Singles and the hundreds of Future Islands shows played in that period, the band began writing new material on the coast of North Carolina, and continued throughout the year in Baltimore before road-testing these songs at a series of secret shows under fake names. Later that year, they traveled to Los Angeles to record with Grammy Award-winning producer John Congleton at the legendary Sunset Sound, where everyone from The Beach Boys to Prince have laid down masterpieces. With string and horn arrangements by Patrick McMinn, The Far Field is the first Future Islands record to feature live drums by Michael Lowry, who joined the band prior to their sensational performance of “Seasons (Waiting On You)” on David Letterman’s late night TV show.
