Meshuggah

They're returning to the pummeling double bass drums and angular riffage that defined their early material to sculpt what they say will be their most savage, eclectic offering yet. "We've got some fast, intense songs and hectic, heavy stuff that draws from all the things we've done in the past," says drummer Tomas Haake to Revolver magazine. "It's so great to actually be playing drums again."
"While we were doing it (rerecording Nothing), we found new ways of playing guitar that give the music a really scary tone. That's going to make this record sound more brutal"

The band members started writing this past August and currently have three tracks completed without vocals and parts in place for 10 more tunes. The goal is to finish by March, in time for a May release.

1. The Flood (Epic opener in vein of Song for the Dead and Someone's in the Wolf)
2. Get Together (First single. Very sexy Queens rock)
3. Red Rose, Black Dirt (A dark marching song, similar to Fun Machine)
4. Into the Sea (A very bluesy ballad featuring backup female vocals)
5. Insomniac (Oliveri-esque song with Josh singing)
6. Making a Cross (DS remake, Alain still singing)
7. Whatever Will you Do? (A throwback to 50's pop, Josh is in Elvis mode)

L'ex singer dei Kyuss John Garcia ha scelto il moniker Garcia vs. Garcia per il suo nuovo progetto solista! L'uscita del debut album è già stata fissata per l'8 Settembre 2007. Una canzone intitolata "5000 Miles", scritta interamente da Danko Jones, sarà inclusa nell'album.

Dopo l'ottimo Misery Is A Butterfly della band italonipponica con sede a New York si erano perse le tracce.

Fortunatamente erano al lavoro per il settimo album (come passa il tempo!), intitolato 23.


Il disco è stato registrato al "The Magic Shop" di New York da Chris Coady e mixato da Rich Costey e Alan Moulder.

Ad aprile esce il nuovo disco, si intitolerà Year Zero
Dice Reznor: "It could be about the end of the world", "a collage of sound type of thing, not heavy in a metal guitar kind of way", "With this record I feel a lot less concerned about what people think about it — especially the dying record industry. I couldn't care less about that right now". Reznor dice che sarà un concept album e "part of a bigger picture of a number of things I'm working on. Essentially I wrote the soundtrack to a movie that doesn't exist."

Reznor said that most of the album was recorded "in hotel rooms around the world on laptops," with very few musicians beside himself and "maybe some surprise vocalists that pop up here and there."

Il 27 febbraio inoltre esce il dvd Beside You in Time, che documenta il tour di With Teeth

Il ritorno degli Unsane dopo "Blood Run" e la fondamentale raccolta su Relapse si intitolerà "Visqueen".
Il disco uscirà il 13 Marzo su Ipecac.


Dillinger Escape Plan

Arrivano finalmente notizie concrete sul successore di Miss Machine. La band sta lavorando alle nuove composizioni e si faranno aiutare in sede di produzione da Steve Evetts. Tra i nuovi brani spuntano i titoli "Saigon Whore", "Medusa", "Fix Your Fucking Face", ""Doll Keeper" e "Party Smasher".
L'album uscirà verso Settembre 2007, sempre su etichetta Relapse.

Christopher Lee, nato a Londra il 27 maggio 1922 e noto specialmente per i suoi ruoli nel genere horror, tra i quali “Dracula il vampiro” del 1958, “La maschera di Frankenstein” del 1956 e "La mummia” del 1959, ha in pubblicazione un album. Il CD s’intitola “Revelation” ed uno dei brani, “The toreader march”, è in stile heavy-metal. “Credo che quando la gente sentirà questo CD dirà: ‘Sì, sa cantare veramente’. Per quanto ne so, nessuno ha mai registrato un album ad un’età simile alla mia”, ha detto il veterano attore. “Credi che ai giovani piacerà ‘The toreador march’ anche se è cantata in francese. Non canto in stile heavy-metal, però il pezzo è heavy-metal”.
Recentemente Lee ha lavorato nei film “Il Signore degli Anelli” (come Saruman), “La fabbrica di cioccolato” e “Giovanni Paolo II”.
